I have been a practicing psychotherapist for 25 years and bring diverse clinical experience from both public and private psychotherapy settings. I've also been involved in the teaching and supervision of pyschotherapists at AUT.
My areas of interest are adult psychotherapy, gender and sexuality, couple work, and mind body issues where illness is part of a persons life. I also provide clinical supervision.

I work with a variety of clients; adults and adolescents with anxiety, depression and suicidality, OCD, trauma, addictions, social phobias, parenting and relationships issues. I have worked at Family Action where the focus is working with trauma – mostly sexual abuse and domestic violence.
My son has cerebral palsy so I have an interest in working with the parents of children with disability/special needs or with clients with physical disabilities and physical health-related issues.

I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy to adults and I've been a psychotherapist since 2007. Prior to this I spent 6 years working in the area of addiction. I see people who are experiencing relational issues, anxiety , depression, trauma, grief, pre or post natal concerns and disordered eating.
I have a special interest in working with those who are suffering from illness and health anxiety. I also offer supervision to psychotherapists and health professionals.

I primarily work with adults of varying backgrounds and cultures in areas including: anxiety, depression, relationships, workplace stress, and adjusting to life change. Previously I've worked in adolescent mental health within the DHB, and with children adjusting to physical health problems in the UK. I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and aim to create a therapeutic environment that is safe, supportive and genuine - fitting your specific needs and goals.
As a clinical psychologist, I am able to provide subsidised therapy to clients holding particular Southern Cross Health Insurance packages. In addition, I hold a contract with the 'Benestar' Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

I have been in private practise for over 10 years. I specialise in treating many common issues including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, grief/loss, chronic physical illness, stress and effects from recent and past trauma or chronic pain.
My primary focus is to use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I supplement CBT using modules such as Schema Therapy,(DBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness to address influences from core beliefs and behaviours adopted through childhood or more recent traumatic events.
